Anticipate disruption at London Heathrow

Guest flying via London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on 5-6 August should anticipate flight disruption. Guest are reminded to reconfirm flights if a planned strike by ground staff proceeds.

The walkout has been called over a pay dispute. Negotiations between the Unite union and the airport management are ongoing. Although the airport authorities will implement measures to minimise the strike’s impact, any industrial action is likely to be well-observed.

More than 170 flights scheduled for 5-6 August have already been cancelled. Further 24-hour work stoppages are set for 23-24 August if the dispute persists.
