AirAsia and Malindo Air Cancels Flights To Wuhan

AirAsia and Malindo Air has temporary suspended flights to Wuhan in view of the coronavirus outbreak.

Malindo Air did not specify the duration of the suspension while AirAsia flights from Kota Kinabalu, Bangkok and Phuket to Wuhan will be cancelled until 15 February 2020. Both airlines are closely monitoring the situation in Wuhan. The safety and wellbeing of guest and airline crew are of the upmost importance.

Malindo Air guest with bookings for travel 23 January to 08 February 2020 may contact the call centre at 03-78415388 or walk in to the Malindo Air ticketing office for assistance.

Meanwhile guest on AirAsia to China are offered the following alternatives

  1. Credit: Guest may retain their fare value in their AirAsia BIG points account for future travel with AirAsia. The credit must be redeemed within 90 days. Applicable for all flights to/from Mainland China flights ticketed before 24 Jan 2020 for travel until 15 Feb 2020 and to/from Wuhan until 29 Feb 2020.
  2. Full Refund: Guest may obtain a full refund to their original payment method. Applicable for all flights to/from Mainland China until 15 Feb 2020 and to/from Wuhan until 29 Feb 2020. Request for refund must be made through the original source of booking.

Update 27 January 2020
AirAsia extends cancelation to Wuhan until 15 February 2020 and allows credit or full refunds to all Mainland China flights for travel until 15 February 2020.
